Anyone who wishes to explore Brandenburg from the bicycle saddle, can choose between about 2,400 kilometres of cycle paths and year after year the interlocking network of cycle paths all over Brandenburg is extended further. Hiking by bicycle along the rivers Havel, Neiße or Spree at your own pace and on well-built cycle paths, on small asphalted side streets, on the dyke of the river Elbe or by mountain bike on paths through the woods: all the routes can be planned to suit your personal preferences and tailored to your physical fitness and your available time. The topography of the country is ideal for cyclists: Brandenburg mainly offers flat and sometimes slightly hilly countryside, a number of idyllic
nature reserves and, above all, a multitude of
lakes and rivers, which are a particular attraction for hikers by bicycle to cycle along.

The cycle path from Berlin to Copenhagen, which connects the two capitals on a journey through beautiful countryside and sleepy villages, is really to be recommended. The Oder-Neiße cycle path is popular as well. Europe’s latest natural meadow landscape awaits you.
Spreewald (a famous forest area along the river Spree) is unique throughout Europe as well. This landscape consists of thousands of canals and is of interest not just for water lovers.

Finally, anyone who would like to combine two sporting activities at a time on a smooth track has a clear run on the “
Fläming-Skate”. The wonderfully asphalted Fläming inline skating path leading through “Baruth Urstromtal” (the lowland of the river Baruth located between the cities of Glogów in Poland and Baruth in East Germany dating back to the glacial epoch) and “Niederer Fläming” (the Lower Fläming area) is 100km in length and 3m in width and offers bicycle hikers and inline skaters the best conditions for intense legwork. Discover Brandenburg at your own pace. And take the time and bring the explorer’s desire with you in order to get to know the beauties of the
countryside at close quarters.
