
In 1950 EKO (OST), the biggest iron works in the GDR, was founded in the town of Eisenhüttenstadt. Modernized in 1990, the plant now mainly produces flat-rolled steel. During the tour, you will discover more about the works’ history, technology and manufacturing processes. You will also gain an interesting overview of the origins of the town, originally known as Stalinstadt.
