Lignite has characterised life in this area of Brandenburg for decades. In 1997, the construction of Europe’s most modern racing and test track was started on the 570-hectare area and by 2000 Lusatia Euro Speedway was finally opened. 120,000 spectators can be seated on the terraces. The main stand with a length of 370m is the best way to follow the entire racing event, as if you were sitting right in the cockpit. But it is not only fast cars with noisy engines that provide the atmosphere at the ring that resembles a NASCAR track. Also cultural events and open-air concerts really get visitors worked up.
