Neuhardenberg Castle – a pinnacle of European architectural and horticultural art

Neuhardenberg Castle Neuhardenberg with its castle is a Mark Brandenburg gem and is located about 30km to the east of Berlin. The town is named after Prince Karl August of Hardenberg. With the Prussian state reforms of the beginning of the 19th century, which were put in place by him and Imperial Baron Karl Stein, the inner revival of the old Prussia was introduced and the way was smoothed to the modern civil society of Germany. Neuhardenberg castle, the classical residence of the ruling power, is located in the village and received its form from no less a person than Karl Friedrich Schinkel and presently is readily used by the German Government for conferences. The castle park was designed by Peter Joseph Lenné and Prince Hermann of Pückler-Muskau. These three names are pinnacles of European architectural and horticultural art of the 19th century. However, the origins of the Neuhardenberg palace date back to the end of the 17th century to the involvement of Princess Dorothea. Apart from the castle, you can visit the park, laid out in the style of an English landscape park, and Schinkel Church, where concerts regularly take place. In addition, a country inn offers specialties from Brandenburg and, in the east wing of the castle, the “Gourmet-Restaurant Lenné” serves Mediterranean cuisine.
