The town, which dates back to 1230, is located in Germany’s most sparsely populated area, the Uckermark, and today is an acknowledged brine thermal health spa. Only a short while ago, NaturThermeTemplin (natural thermal baths) was opened, which attracts lovers of mare’s milk baths, water slides, brine baths and massages. The state-approved brine thermal health spa leaves nothing to be desired regarding wellness, sauna and health. A heated outdoor swimming pool with a waterfall grotto and geysers entices you to swim outside. In addition, visitors to Templin are protected in the best possible way, as the town is surrounded by a fully preserved town wall with three town gates that date back to the 13th century. The historic town centre, St. Mary Magdalen’s Church, the square marketplace with the town hall in the classical style and the many sleepy half-timbered houses of the town await you in its interior. Afterwards, lovers of steamers or boats can go off to the mooring by the Stadtsee (lake of the town). From here, visitors can take to the lake by passenger ship to the Naturpark Uckermärkische Seen (Uckermark Lakes Nature Park). And Templin has another attraction to offer you, which is unique in Germany: a 30 kilometre rail trolley track to Fürstenberg on the Havel town of lakes. Together with your family and your friends, you can experience the bleak North Brandenburg countryside from an unparalleled perspective on the rail trolleys, which consist of bicycles mounted on former railway lines.
