Tour 7: Lakes up to the horizon - The North Brandenburg Lake District

Via empty roads, you drive in a north-westerly direction from Chorin through the almost unspoilt forest areas of the Schorfheide biosphere reserve to the town and health resort of Templin. At the side of the road, there are thick forests and unspoilt lakes surrounded by forest - like in a world of fairy tales. In Templin, the historic town centre is one of the sights worth a visit.

Via Fürstenberg on the Havel, the journey leads to a true natural highlight, the large Stechlinsee (a lake). The largest and clearest deep-water lake in Brandenburg offers a breathtaking and unspoilt natural backdrop. Anyone who wishes can explore the natural countryside in a pedal boat without the noise of an engine. Stechlinsee is impressive.
