From Luisenplatz, you drive in the direction of
Potsdam’s central train station, from there you take the country road to
Caputh along the Templiner See (a lake). After a visit to Einstein’s House and to the Great Elector’s castle, the Kavalierhaus (cavalier’s house), which is right in the castle park, invites you to have a cup of coffee and cakes while enjoying an idyllic view of the river Havel.

You will then cross this river with a small car ferry and, after a short stretch of road, you will reach
Werder, which is not only the centre of the Havel fruit growing area, but also a historic fishing town and Germany’s northernmost wine growing area. Every year in May, Germany’s second-biggest folk festival – the Baumblütenfest (Blossom Festival) takes place in Werder. From here, you take the A10, at Glindow, in the direction of Magdeburg.

At the Potsdam motorway junction, you continue on the Berlin ring road in the direction of Frankfurt on the Oder. Just a few minutes after leaving the motorway at Königs Wusterhausen motorway exit, you are before another castle of the Hohenzollern Kings, the
Königs Wusterhausen Hunting Lodge, which was built by Friedrich Wilhelm I, the Soldier King. After this eventful day, you can have dinner in the aristocratic Cavalier’s House of the castle. Several hotels and guest houses invite you to spend the night there.
