The church’s uniform design in the Neo-Romanesque style dates from 1883, with a wooden pulpit, baptismal font, west gallery, organ and pews. A special feature typical of this region is the design of the church warden bench dating from 1679. Ten apostles are depicted in the painted round-arched alcoves of the back wall. Two further apostles and inscriptions can be seen in the balustrade areas. Two wings of the altar come from the retable taken from the village church in Knoblauch by Ketzin in 1966. They depict Saints Hieronymus and Erasmus dating from around 1500.

Outside the church, the two gravestones of banker Ernst Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and his wife Marie stand out, dated 1909 and 1906 respectively.

Börnicke church is part of the “Offene Kirchen” (Open Churches) initiative. The key is available from the parish office.
