The first stage of the Berlin-Usedom Cycle Path is 41 kilometre long and takes you from the centre of Berlin to Biesenthal. From the Palace Park you continue to the Mauerpark park and from there along the Panke to Bernau near Berlin with its medieval town centre. You reach Biesenthal, your destination, via Ladeburg and Lobetal.

Return journey: from Biesenthal take the RB24 to Eberswalde. Continue from here by taking the RE3309 (Elsterwerda-Biehla) to Berlin central station (about 1 hour).

Route: Berlin Palace Park, Mauerpark park, Panke, Bernau, Ladeburg, Lobetal, Biesenthal

  • Bernau: Local history museum, Wallanlagen
  • Ladeburg bunker
  • Biesenthal town hall gallery

Trail conditions/surface: Most of the route is on separate cycle paths. There are a few stretches with paved field and forest paths. There are only short passages, where cyclists get into contact with motor traffic on main roads or when going through towns and villages. Within the State of Brandenburg, the whole cycle path is fully developed and signposted. Continuous signposting is also provided in Berlin. Parts of the route are identical with the Panke Cycle Route.
