“Wake up and fly off” is the motto at this airfield just outside Berlin. Friedersdorf is Germany’s first flying village. Aircraft are parked in the hangar next to the house itself. Whether you float straight from your breakfast table to nearby Berlin or set off for a circular tour over the wonderful lakeland scenery of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, the view from the airy heights is breathtaking.
The Luftsportclub Interflug Berlin e.V. association runs glider flights (cross-country and aerobatics) on Friedersdorf air field. The association’s main focus is glider training, which is possible from the age of 14. But you can still take off and enjoy the Brandenburg landscape from above even without a glider licence. On weekends from May to October, it is possible to fly in a two-seater if the weather is good.
