The herb farm in Bönitz was set up in 2014 by Kerstin Matausch and is in the middle of the countryside. Visitors here can enjoy plants with all their senses – and learn a lot about herbal medicine and healthy nutrition in the herb school, during herbal walks and in lectures and courses. Herbal and medicinal plants are made into ointments, tinctures or tea.

About 200 different wild plants and herbs are at home in the wild herb garden. During a guided tour with the herb lady Mrs Matausch, you will learn a lot of interesting information about their names, ingredients and uses.

The garden café is the ideal place to a have relaxing an enjoyable rest. Here, you can relax in the shade of the fruit trees or on the sun terrace and unwind over a homemade herbal lemonade, fresh tarte flambée or lovingly baked cakes and tarts. For those who prefer hearty food, the herb kitchen offers seasonal treats.

The herb farm is open Wednesday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from mid-March to November and by arrangement.
