The bathing lake in Bernsdorf was created through gravel extraction – the almost rectangular shape of the lake bears witness to this today. Around the lake there are numerous banks with a narrow gravel strip inviting visitors to take a dip and splash around in the water. A sunbathing lawn and plenty of seating offer ample space to play as well as to relax and unwind.
Every year, water festivals take place here at the beginning of July where, amongst other things, amateur rafters compete against their rivals during the raft race. The bathing lake is freely accessible. Parking is also available. Dry toilets are available nearby and other public toilets are available in the leisure centre in Bernsdorf. Barbecue and camp fire areas are also available there.
