In Schlosspark (castle park) Jüterbog, contrary to its name, there is no castle at all. The name goes back to a medieval castle that was mentioned in documents in the 12th century, but of which no traces remain today. The park in its present form was essentially laid out in the 1930s. In the 70s of the 20th century, the castle pond, a smaller carp pond and an animal park were added.

The park is enclosed to the north by the Wilhelm-Kempff-Weg as well as the Wasche, to the west by the Mozartstraße, to the east by the Wiesenschule as well as to the south by the Schloßstraße. To the north of the Wasche, wet meadows adjoin and extend the recreational area in the heart of Jüterbog. In the southern part of the park, seating areas invite visitors to linger. The most beautiful path from the train station west of the city to the picturesque old town of Jüterbog leads directly through the castle park.
