The former Dominican monastery and the Kirche St. Pauli Church, which were seriously destroyed in the Second World War, were refurbished and converted for lasting public use with the help of funding from the EU, the State of Brandenburg and Brandenburg an der Havel City Council. In the 850th anniversary year since the establishment of the Mark Brandenburg, life was finally again breathed into the exceptional building complex situated at the heart of the New Town, which is an outstanding example of brick-built Gothic monastery buildings in the State of Brandenburg.
