The main theme of this bicycle tour is the generation of energy from coal, wind and water. Within close proximity of each other, this tour takes you past a post mill, a Dutch windmill and a water mill. In addition to the various windmills, the tour also takes you past impressive industrial monuments from the lignite mining era.

In the Louise briquette factory, you can watch how coal briquettes used to be made. At the Plessa power station, you will be shown how coal is converted into electricity. In addition to the energy production sites, this tour also takes you through the Lower Lusatian Heath Nature Park, past mining areas and along the Elbe and the Schwarze Elster rivers.

The spa town of Bad Liebenwerda has a pretty restored centre and spa gardens that invite you to take a stroll. The “Wonnemar” thermal bath in Lausitz with its water and wellness landscape is a great place to relax.

  • Train: Take the RE3 regional express train from Berlin-Südkreuz to Falkenberg (Elster), then take the S4 regional train to Bad Liebenwerda (about 2 hours).
  • Car: from Berlin, take the A13 and B87 via Luckau and Schlieben to Bad Liebenwerda (about 2 hours).
