Since 2003, the House of the Brandenburg-Prussian History (HBPG) is established in the building that was formerly used as stalls for the royal carriages and horses ("Kutschstall") in Potsdam´s historic centre. The museum is run as a place for exhibitions, events and education communicating history and culture in Brandenburg. The venue provides a living forum for communication, cultural education, leisure and entertainment with its exhibitions, guided tours and its variety of events.

Since the 30th anniversary of the re-foundation of the federal state of Brandenburg and the central celebrations of Germany´s reunification in Potsdam in 2020 the museum shows the special exhibition “Mensch Brandenburg! 30 Jahre – 30 Orte – 30 Geschichten“. The exhibition retrospects the latest 30 years using examples of 30 places, 30 individual stories as well as 30 exhibits and explains the awakening and the success, the hopes and the barriers to progress for the people in Brandenburg since October 3rd, 1990.

In 2021 HBPG will open the new historical exhibition “Brandenburg.Ausstellung” at the Kutschstall.

The House of the Brandenburg-Prussian History (HBPG) is one of four participating partners offering the MUSEUM Kombikarte.
