Besides the New Palace, the New Chambers are the second guest palace of Frederick the Great. Built 20 years earlier as an orangery the king decided in 1768 to convert it into a guest palace. Today it is regarded as a late work of the Friderician Rococo.

Due to its proximity to Sanssouci Palace, the New Chambers were mainly intended for close friends and acquaintances of the king. How important his guests were to him can also be seen from the lavishly decorated festive rooms and apartments with impressive room compositions between ornamental and gold ornaments.

For digital exploration, use the “Park Sanssouci” app from the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg – on site during your visit or from the comfort of your own home. You can download the app from Google Play (Android devices) or the App Store (macOS devices). The multimedia guide is available in German and English.
