The sculptor Christian Uhlig (born in 1944) from the Uckermark region demanded a lot of self-irony from the Wittenberge residents when he put the most diverse characters from different eras on a barge and asked the onlookers to toast them. When the bronze sculpture entitled "Time Travel” starts to oscillate, the onlookers experience how the crowd on the barge sing a song one after another.

The skipper, devil, jester, warrior and philistine are all on board. They are all in the flow of time in which a cow climbs in on one side of the boat and a car comes out on the other. As an attentive onlooker, we see two more figures making their own melody: a flautist and a bassist. They are always kept warm by hard-working Wittenberge residents. Art that has become visible.
