Small and large groups can head off along the decommissioned railways on a very special kind of bicycle from Easter to October, through the beautiful landscape past lakes and forests, through meadows and fields. For some fun on the rails, you can choose from bicycle draisines (2-4 persons), group draisines (3-5 persons), a wheelchair draisine (2-3 persons) and electric draisines (3-7 persons).

This unique outdoor experience can also be perfectly combined with a visit to the “Kirchlein im Grünen” (little church in the countryside) in Alt Placht, a raft and canoe trip in Lychen, a visit to the Weihnachtsmannstube (Santa’s Grotto) in Himmelpfort, or simply enjoying the landscape of the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park.

The 28 kilometre long stretch of railway is also the first draisine line in Germany. Holidaymakers, guests and locals can find lots of useful information on and near the line on the timetables and route maps. For example, they show where each of the 14 rest stations in total are and how far they are from each other. For a picnic, a stop to go swimming or a trip to the surrounding villages, the draisine can simply be parked at the rest stations next to the rails.

You can also decide for yourself how far you want to go on the tour you book. So you do not have to go the full route from Templin to Fürstenberg or back. The rail runs either from the base station in Templin on the “I-love-Brandenburg-Tour” to the end station in Hohenlychen and back (maximum 34 kilometres) or from Fürstenberg to Hohenlychen on the “Für-jeden-etwas-Tour” (something for everyone tour) (maximum 25 kilometres). You can get to the draisine stations easily by Deutsche Bahn train or by car.
