Please do not let the unusual name put you off. Located on the nothern edge of the attractive Schlaubetal Valley, Müllrose is a very idyllic corner of the world that is ideal for a day of boating or by the waterside. We recommend combining active recreation and adventures in nature by taking a canoe tour starting at the premises of the boat rental company ‘Bootsvermietung Schlaubetal’. After your tour, you should definitely visit the historic market square with ‘Haus des Gastes’, which is home to the Schlaubetal information centre and the local history museum, and the baroque parish church.

Müllrose is virtually surrounded by Lakes Großer and Kleiner Müllroser See and Katharinensee. You can start your canoe tour on Lake Kleiner Müllroser See, then travel along the waterway Oder-Spree canal for about 600 metres, before returning to the calmer waters of Katharinengraben that will take you to Lake Katharinensee. Your 1.5 hour water-borne journey that will take you across the lakes around Müllrose would only be 200 metres long on land.

However, you would miss out on the scenic beauty and the opportunity to exercise. After taking a break at Lake Katharinensee, we recommend taking a delightful walk around Lake Großer Müllroser See.

Last but not least, there is the historic equipment store of the fire brigade with its wooden hose tower on Schiffbauerstrasse. It was built in 1925 and is well-worth a visit.

Length: 12 kilometres, 1.5 hours by canoe

Start and finish: Bootsvermietung Schlaubetal in Müllrose

How to get there: When travelling to or from Müllrose by car, take the A12, junction Müllrose.

Restaurants:
  • Am Kanal inn
  • Restaurant Kaisermühle
