The 28-metre watchtower is located on the south side of Wachtelberg. Wachtelberg owes its origin to the third glaciation in our region, which happened about 11,000 years ago. The observation tower offers a broad panoramic view of the surrounding area with its woodlands, lakes and rivers. In clear weather you can even see the television tower. There are 96 steps up to the observation platform.

The Wachteltum is located along the 66 Lakes Hiking Trail. There is a reward in store for all hikers who climb the Wachtelturm, the observation tower on Kranichsberg near Woltersdorf and the bell tower at Rüdersdorf Museum Park: having collected a stamp at the ticket office of each tower, they are issued with a personal “Tower Diploma” along with the last stamp.
