Unterspreewald is often referred to as the little brother of the Oberspreewald region. The village Schlepzig with its 650 residents and more than 1,000 years of history is far removed from mass tourism. Its central location in the unique natural landscape allows for a wide range of recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy wonderful cycling, hiking, punting and paddling tours in the local area, as well as carriage and charabanc rides and fishing. Local sights include the farm museum, the half-timbered church, the historic grain mill and the information centre of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Spreewald in the old mill, as well as the willow cathedral in the grounds of the brewery. Ranging from cosy guest rooms through to a comfortable hotel, every guest will find the right place the stay.
