The Gothic building by Stüler dating from 1852 is on a small hill in the middle of the village of Brodowin. In 2013, the church was fully renovated and its original appearance – both inside and out – was restored. Up until 1848, the village had a Baroque church that unfortunately burned down. A little while later, the famous architect Stüler was commissioned to build a new church by King Frederick William IV.

In regard to the exterior of the church, the tower is quite striking as it is built entirely of brick right up to the octagonal steeple. During the renovations, the original colours were restored in the interior. During the works, two over-sized angels were discovers to the left and right of the apse, which were in part uncovered. The now watch over the church nave in strong ochre tones once again.

The church is part of the “Offene Kirchen” (Open Churches) initiative and is open at weekends from Easter to Harvest Festival. During the annual “Kirchensommer Brodowin” event series, numerous concerts take place at the church.
