The theme of this bicycle tour is the generation of energy from wind and water. On this tour, you will come across the Paltrockwindmühle windmill and a post mill, among other things. The tour then continues past the Lake Körbaer See recreation area and then crosses the Schwarze Elster. You should stop off in Schlieben, one of the most northerly wine-growing areas, and taste the local wine. The town of Herzberg boasts a carefully restored historic town centre. And as you take a stroll through the town, don’t forget to pay a visit to the late Gothic brick church of St Mary’s. Its medieval ceiling fresco is unique in Europe and has been preserved in its original state; is considered an insider tip by art connoisseurs and those in the know.

  • Train: Take the RE3 from Berlin central station to Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Continue from here by taking the RB81 (Falkenberg/Elster) to Herzberg (about 2 hours).
