The village church of Zeestow is a striking testimony to the region’s history, located in the Zeestow district of the municipality of Brieselang in the Havelland region. It was built between 1847 and 1850, following a devastating village fire in the mid-19th century, as a simple brick building with a square tower, and to this day it shapes the village's appearance.

After decades of disuse, the church was extensively restored and in 2014 opened as the first motorway church on the western Berlin ring road. Since then, it has been open daily—not only as a place for worship services, but also as a “filling station for the soul” and a meeting point for travelers, cyclists, and anyone interested.

The building is characterized by its clear architectural language: pointed arch windows in the nave, a now once again visible tower with an octagonal upper section, and a historic bell from 1848 that recalls the reconstruction over 170 years ago. Inside, artistically designed paintings depicting scenes of the Twelve Apostles invite visitors to contemplation and devotion.

Surrounding the church is the former churchyard—a quiet place that, in addition to gravestones such as that of the Bredow family, also reveals historical traces of the community.

Today, the village church of Zeestow is much more than a sacred monument: it is an open place of encounter, embedded in the history of the village, and combines local heritage with contemporary use. Whether it serves as a resting place during a journey or a cultural stopover on discovery tours through the Havelland, it offers space for reflection, connection, and cultural experience.
