The representative Protestant church that was built in 1921, is located in the centre of the market square. The much smaller medieval predecessor building had burned down entirely on May 12, 1914. Only a few items could be saved, such as the ornamental wooden baptismal font from the first half of the 18th century. The new rectangular church with its neo-baroque style west tower, was built within four years, based on a design by the architect Curt Steinberg from Berlin. Visitors can enter the open church through the tower hall. Above the doors there is a mosaic showing Jesus on the cross. The nave is a barrel vaulting construction. Its coffered ceiling consists of 176 panels that are painted with Christian symbols and floral ornaments. The pneumatic organ has 27 registers and it was built in 1920, by the organ builder Gustav Heinze (Sorau). There is room for up to 800 people in the impressive church. The 41 metres tall tower is home to three bells forming Brandenburg’s biggest steel bell installation.
