Watching the mining area grow: 20 lakes will be created in the south of Brandenburg over the next few years - where excavators tore up the earth in search of lignite years ago and open-cast mines were created. Some of these have already been flooded. In the heart of the Lusatian Lakeland, ten lakes will be connected by navigable canals in just a few years. Part of the future area is already navigable. Leisure captains can set off on boat trips between Lake Senftenberg and Lake Geierswald. The two lakes are connected by the Koschen Canal.
