The lock in Templin is located on the Templiner Gewässer waterway, and it is part of Obere Havel-Wasserstraße It was built in 1894/95. There is a bridge across the structure. Following comprehensive refurbishment, the lock was taken back into operation in 2005. The lock runs on a self-service basis and operates automatically. The authority responsible is the Eberswalde Waterway and Shipping Office.

Dimensions: Lock chamber 27 metres long; 5.10 metres wide

Lift: 4.22 metres

From April to September the lock is in operation daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., in October from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and from November to March from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
