The starting point is the landing stage at the village meadow in the centre of Prieros. The Dahme flows to the left, but you drive straight ahead into Lake Huschtesee and Lake Schmöldesee. Both lakes are narrow and are framed by a hilly, wooded landscape. The northern shore of Lake Schmöldesee is the woodland of the Dubrow. The forest was the hunting ground of Prussian kings. On the east and west banks of Lake Schmöldesee and Lake Hölzerner See are nature reserves.

Once through a short bridge underpass just 10 metres wide, you reach Lake Klein Köris. From here the journey continues into a narrow waterway to Lake Kleiner Moddersee and on to the larger Lake Großer Moddersee. Both lakes are surrounded by lush fenlands. The adjoining Lake Schulzensee is located next to the village of Gross Köris. When exiting Lake Schulzensee you pass under a portal drawbridge. During the season the bridge is opened every hour for large boats. Once through a small canal you reach Lake Zemminsee. On its northern shore you can see the Rankenhof with boat house and holiday apartments.

Having passed through a short canal, the Mochgraben, you reach Lake Schwerin followed by Lake Teupitz. In the lake there are several small islands, some of which have weekend houses on them. You can moor at the water touring base in Teupitz, a large floating jetty with a solar roof. This jetty is also the arrival and departure point for the popular boat trips of the Dahme-Schifffahrt Teupitz company.
