Anyone travelling west from Berlin-Spandau will come to Schönwalde-Glien in no time - a municipality with around 10.000 inhabitants, which has been in existence since 2003 and comprises seven town districts: Siedlung, Dorf, Paaren im Glien, Pausin, Perwenitz, Wansdorf and Grünefeld. Cycling is a good way to explore these villages as they lie along the Havelland Cycle Path and are connected to the Dörferkranz Route around the Krämer Forest. Historic inns and barns, a lido and a museum café provide welcome resting spots along the way. Points of interest and sights include the Ark Petting Zoo in the MAFZ Theme Park in Paaren, the well-preserved Wagner organ in the village church, several manor houses of yesteryear and the highest building in the Havelland, the old television tower in Perwenitz.
