The theatre village of Netzeband, located near Neuruppin, has been offering extraordinary art experiences every summer for 25 years now. On the large open-air natural stage in the estate park, below Temnitz church, classical plays – such as those by Fontane, Brecht and Shakespeare – are performed as synchronised theatre. The distinctive feature here is that the performers wear oversized masks and act with large gestures in synchronisation with a pre-produced audio installation. Well-known actors such as Corinna Harfouch, Tom Quaas and Gerd Silberbauer “lend” their voices to the summer theatre festival. More than 50 expressive, imaginative characters can be experienced in “Under the Milk Wood” by Dylan Thomas. The play has established a cult following, never failing to fascinate the audience at the start of each season. In addition, there is always a children’s play and a family play in the programme.
