This structure is a colossus: The Niederfinow boat lift, which went into operation in 1934, is considered to be the oldest boat lift still in working order in Germany. This steel giant on the Oder-Havel Canal allows ships to overcome a height difference of 36 metres. The water trough only needs five minutes to do this. But there is also plenty to discover around the technical monument - for example along the boat lift tour.
