Between Elbe and Elster - Monks, Power and Controversy: More than 500 years ago, Martin Luther wrote his theses, which changed the course of history. This was triggered by the sale of indulgences by Johann Tetzel in the Fläming town of Jüterbog. From here, the route takes you in six stages along the Historic Town Centres Cycle Route 5 via the Flaeming Skate to Dahme/Mark, to the former monasteries of Luckau and Doberlug-Kirchhain and to Mühlberg, where Emperor Charles led his troops into battle.

Along the way, museums in historic buildings and urban exhibitions bring to life the time when the Reformation changed the lives of ordinary people as much as the power games of princes. The tour takes you back to Jüterbog along the river Elster and via the Flaeming-Skate. Stage maps and town maps for tourists help you find your way around.
