"Out of the capital and off to the Baltic Sea” could be the motto of this tour. It starts on Berlin´s “Schlossplatz” and passes through rural towns, villages and unspoilt countryside to the “Kaiserbäder” on Usedom. In Barmin, it runs through the Hussite town of Bernau, the “Biesenthaler Becken” and the “Schorfheide”, along Lake Werbellin, then across Joachimstal to Angermünde and Prenzlau. It continues in Mecklenburg past town walls, village churches, thatched roofs and manor houses on the Baltic Sea.

  • Biesenthaler Becken Nature Reserve: discover a wide variety of plants and animals, near to the town of Biesenthal
  • Schorfheide: widespread heathland in one of the largest areas of unbroken forests in Germany, moors, wetlands, small and large lakes (e.g. Lake Werbellin)
  • Blumberg Ponds around the town of Angermünde: Blumberg Mill (NABU information centre) and historic town centre
  • Prenzlau: fully restored Dominican monastery and St. Mary´s Church
