Start/Finish: Altenhof by Lake Werbellinsee

Trail conditions: The tour runs along signposted, mainly asphalted cycle paths, along by Lake Werbellinsee on solid, unspoilt pathways.

We have chose Altenhof, the only place located right by Lake Werbellinsee, as the starting point for this tour.

From the lake, you cycle along avenues and through fields via Buckow to Lichterfelde and on to Eberswalde.

The cycle path takes a detour across the Oder-Havel Canal to the Finow Canal, which borders Schorfheide to the south. Not without reason. The towpath takes you to the lift bridge at Eberswalde family garden in the direction of the Flößerdorf Finowfurt rafting village, past historic locks, unique industrial culture, from Borsighalle to the Messingwerksiedlung cutler’s settlement, all the while passing through attractive greenery. Information panels along the way explain the history and the huge importance of the Finow Canal.

From the Flößerdorf Finowfurt rafting village and Finowfurt aviation museum, you continue on along the Berlin-Usedom cycle path to Grafenbrück, Rosenbeck and Eichhorst through some of the most beautiful landscape in Schorfheide along the Werbellin Canal and Lake Werbellinsee back to Altenhof.

Public transport: Having arrived by train, the tour can also start from Bahnhof Eberswalde train station or from Eberswalde family garden as an alternative starting point.

The tour is based on the Pharusplan Schorfheide map.
