The historic Adler pharmacy is the oldest half-timbered building in the town. It is now home the Museum Eberswalde and the tourist information centre. The history of the building, town and region are the continuous thread running through the exhibition. Thematic focuses include industrialisation in the Finowtal valley and forest teaching and research in the 19th century, for example. A special exhibit is the complete copy of the Eberswalde Hoard. The original is considered to be the biggest Bronze Age gold find ever discovered in Germany.

The interactive point of the museum is in the attic. Guests can design their vision for Eberswalde or touch important building blocks of the history of the town of Eberswalde, the region of Barnim and the Adler pharmacy architectural monument at the “BerührBar” sensory station. The offering includes alternating special exhibitions with accompanying programmes, museum educational activities and guided tours.
