The enchanting Finow Canal winds its way gently for almost 30 km through the historic river valley. Where industrial noise and barges once reigned, you can now enjoy the pure tranquillity of nature. The perfect combination of relaxation, adventure and authentic manual labour at the locks.

Route highlights: Heading east, a breathtaking view of the Lower Oder Valley with its meadows and woods awaits you. Travelling downstream towards the west, you’ll pass historic, hand-operated locks. Don’t worry: the lock keepers are incredibly helpful, and after the first couple of times, it’s great fun!

  • Tip for a detour: Turn off onto the Werbelliner Canal – it takes you straight through enchanting countryside to the crystal-clear, turquoise Werbellin Lake in the Schorfheide.

     

  • The rafts: space for up to eight people, no licence required and equipped with a weather-protected cabin.
