Ragöse Lock is one of the 12 historic locks along the Finow Canal. It was first built from 1743 to 1749. In 1875, the lock was built in its current form and in 1929 electric lighting was installed. The lock still has wooden lock gates to this day. They were renovated in 1952 and 1997. The area around the lock is mostly accessible and is popular with day-trippers and cyclists on the towpath as somewhere to stop and take a break. There are good put-in and take-out opportunities for canoes.
