The circular walking route around Pätz’s Vorder- and Hintersee lakes starts at Bestensee railway station and links varied natural landscapes with small villages and places to stop for refreshments. The route first takes you through Bestensee, past the well-known bathing spot on Pätz’s Vordersee, and on through the unspoilt village centre of Pätz. Via the Liepegrund, the route enters the countryside of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. You’ll soon reach Pätzer Hintersee. This section is characterised by woods, meadows and occasional brief glimpses of the water. After a stretch along the Hofjagdweg, the route runs parallel to the regional railway line for a short distance towards the Hintersiedlung Bestensee before the path leads directly along the lakeshore once more. The route takes you back to the starting point via the Hintersiedlung, the Vordersiedlung and Klein Besten. If you’d like to take a break along the way, you’ll find places to eat in Bestensee and the Hintersiedlung.
