This romantic route takes you along the lakes, some in sleepy spots in the forest. As you walk along the Dahme flood canal, you will first reach the beautiful bathing area at Lake Köthener See. The Seenkette lake of chains to the south of it can be admired from the observation tower on Wehlaberg mountain. Then you return via Lake Oderiner See.

How to get there:
  • Train: From Berlin Ostkreuz, take the RB24 (Senftenberg) to Oderin (about 45 minutes).
  • Car: From Berlin via the A13 to Oderin (about 1 hour).

Route description: The stunning Lake Köthener See has one of the best bathing areas in the whole of Brandenburg. On your hike to Märkisch Buchholz along the Dahme flood canal you can find the only waterfall in Brandenburg: an artificial weir. This tour also takes you through long stretches of forest where you can enjoy the solitude and remoteness of nature. Later on, you can climb up the Wehlabergturm tower.
