The railway museum at Falkenberg/Elster railway station takes visitors a step back in history. The exhibits include model railways, signal boxes, uniforms from the German National Railway, many pictures, old railcars and a collection of historical telephones. Those who want to can get a ticket from Calau to Leipzig from the old ticket machine at a value of “5 German marks”. Visitors can even admire a telex machine in the railway museum. These devices were used in those days to transmit messages quickly. Visitors can also pay a visit to a Class 52 steam locomotive on the site of the former railway works by prior arrangement.

During a tour of the museum, former employees of the railway company relate authentic stories about how they experienced the development of Falkenberg railway station and the associated evolution of the railway. Guided tours can be arranged in advance by telephone.
