With Hermann Sudermann (1857-1928), a lord of the castle who was also a literature enthusiast lived on the estate near Trebbin. The small village even has its own festival with the “Blankenseer Musiksommer”. The agricultural museum is located in the oldest building in the village. The half-timbered house built in 1649 presents the everyday lives of farmers over two centuries. Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park and the wildlife enclosures at NaturParkZentrum Glauer Tal as well as many other viewing points can be explored from Blankensee.
