Length: 26 kilometres (6 hours)

Start: Trebbin

End: Seddin

Logo/route sign: Blue circle against a white background

How to get there: From Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), take the RE3 regional train (Lutherstadt Wittenberg) to Trebbin (about 30 minutes).

Return journey: From Seddin, take the RE7 regional train (Wünsdorf-Waldstadt) to Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) (about 45 minutes).

Route: Trebbin, Schönhagen, Blankensee, Stücken, Wildenbruch, Seddin, Neuseddin

How to get there: You will reach the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park just beyond Trebbin. The trail first leads over the Löwendorf hill (103 metres), where a 22-metre tall observation tower was built in 2012, providing panoramic vistas over the landscape and even as far as Berlin in good weather. Carrs, waterlogged areas of woodland, and flooded meadows characterise the area punctuated with lakes, which provide an ideal habitat for cranes. Thousands of the resting migratory birds can be seen on the shallow lakes in spring and autumn: herons, storks, wild geese and lapwings, among others. A short detour to the Nature Park Centre at the Glauer Valley wildlife enclosure is always interesting. In Blankensee you can observe the migration of birds from the pier. With its castle and castle grounds, village museum and churches and its location on the lake of the same name, Blankensee is the main attraction on this stage. Continue on via Stücken to Kähnsdorf on Lake Seddiner See, where the Kähnsdorf lido is perfect for a refreshing dip in the lake.
