The MitMach exhibition on the theme of “Town in the Middle Ages” with 16 stations with its interactive, action-oriented offerings invites children to get involved in trade skills, commercial know-how, world discovery and the progress these lead to.

With Franzi’s help, they experience the Middle Ages and the period of the Reformation with all of their senses. Various costumes for dressing-up turn a visit into a journey through time to the Middle Ages. Within the old walls of the monastery, they can build, write, print, sniff, feel, measure, stitch, weave, listen and so much more.

Accompanying booklets are available free of charge for two age groups.

Workshops:
Writing workshop (only for daycare centres and school classes)

Write your birth certificate with a real goose feather and learn your name in Sütterlinschrift lettering. They seal the certificate yourself.

Equestrian games

First, you get to make your own horse or a hat. Then off to the cloister to try jousting and shooting a crossbow.

Medieval parlour games

Fun with herbs and the kitchen

Smell, taste, look - What herb is it? What can I cook with it? A small lesson on herbs will help you out and you will then cook as they did in the Middle Ages.

Guided tour of the museum for children - We offer child-friendly guided tours of the exhibition.

Guided tour of the town and tower viewing Town:

guides from the children’s museum help you to find the most beautiful locations in the town in a playful manner. It is a combination of green, blue, grey and red, and if you lose your bearings then look for one of the many towers, always in a circle - preferably turning to the right.
