Dahme castle was built at the beginning of the 18th century, incorporating the entire foundation of the previous moated castle. After an eventful history regarding the use of the castle, the withdrawal of state funds after the Second World War meant that it gradually fell to ruins.

Extensive measures to secure the structure of the formerly magnificent castle are to thank for the very special atmosphere of the ruins today. The ruins are now used for different events and can, for example, also be hired for weddings and private family celebrations.

The castle ruins are accessible, so wheelchair users can participate in events. Toilet facilities with disabled toilets have been installed at the ruins.
