Not afraid of long tours! Are you not afraid of long tours? Do you want to find out? Then give the RK1 circular route a go! You can complete the almost 100 kilometres of this route as an athletic day-long tour or complete it in multiple stages, either on skates or by bicycle. Almost all of the RK1 circular route is three metres wide and covered with the finest tarmac, meaning it practically skates itself!

The RK1 circular route offers long, straight segments where even beginner skaters and families with small children will be at ease. More expert skaters will be in their element with ascents and descents and in the Jüterbog Skate Arena – experience and appropriate safety equipment are required.

The villages dotted along the RK1 circular route have everything a visitor could wish for – cosy restaurants, quaint beer gardens and overnight accommodation for every budget. The range is topped off by rental and repair stations for skates and bicycles.

The RK1 circular route and its surroundings are filled with nods to both recent and less recent history. The medieval town centres of Jüterbog and Dahme, as well as Zinna Monastery, are absolute musts. For people staying in the region a while longer, it’s worth paying a visiting to the fishing village of Mellensee or the Johannismühle Wildlife Park with its polar wolves and brown bears. The Baruther Glashütte museum village or the Damm-Mühle (dam mill) in Wildau-Wentdorf are impressive relics of the former industrial culture. If you want a little more adrenaline, make a pit stop at the go-kart track in Altes Lager.

After all that excitement, you can lean back and relax in the local pools and lakes, and get to know traditional crafts at the region’s mills and workshops.

If you’d rather not go on the tour on your own, simply join a guided bicycle or skating tour in the district of Niedergörsdorf or from Ließen/Petkus. Romantics are in for a treat, too, with ‘moonlight skating’ on the route.

Please note: Maintenance and care of the tracks is one of the ongoing tasks in the Flaeming-Skate region. This means there are occasionally short-term restrictions on sections of individual routes. Please see the Flaeming-Skate website to find out more about this in good time before your arrival.
