The koi fish garden in Lehnin is located beautifully, surrounded by forests and the lake Klostersee, and directly on the circular trail around the lake. Hikers can reach the garden within just ten minutes, by crossing the bridge from the monastery grounds. There is so much to discover in the 4,000 square metres big pond landscape. Between March and October, visitors can admire a sea of flowers on and around the more than 20 ponds.

The ponds with their natural appearance are home to koi fish, most of which have been bred on the premises, and who are just as colourful as their relatives from far away places. You can also spot goldfish and sunfish. Various frog and toad species have settled here, too. If you are lucky, you may even see a lizard sunbathing on the slope, or a newt coming up to the surface of a pond for air. The cooter turtles who have been spending the winters in our big pond for many years now, are also very popular.
