This tour has a definite Nordic feel to it: it is a nice change from the walks through forests and heathlands that you will have undertaken elsewhere. Here you walk on dykes along the banks of the River Havel: with expansive views and taking deep breaths – almost as good as at the Baltic Sea.

Start/finish: Alter Bahnhof Roskow

Directions:
  • Public transport: From Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) take the RE1 for Brandenburg an der Havel/Magdeburg to Brandenburg central station. From here, take bus 558/569 for Päwesin as far as Roskow, Alter Bahnhof.
  • Car: From Berlin, take the B5 westwards in the direction of Nauen until you reach Wernitz. From here, take the L863 to Tremmen and continue via Zachow and Gutenpaaren on the L92 to Roskow.
  • Parking: At the old railway station (Alter Bahnhof)

Route: Roskow, Weserarm, along the banks of the River Havel in the direction of Ketzin, canal path, Roskow

Route description:

From the old railway station (Alter Bahnhof) in Roskow, the route first follows the old railway embankment to Weseram. After Weseram you then finally immerse yourself in the natural environment of the Havel river landscape and can explore this further as the circular tour continues.

This dyke walk is very suitable for dogs: the only traffic is on the village roads. Otherwise, the tour is mostly on cycle paths and is very quiet. The route along the Havel is especially great for dogs who like water.
