Pritzerbe reed weaving works is the last of its kind in Germany. The building was constructed as the new clubhouse of Pritzerbe marksmen’s guild and was opened on June 23, 1929.

Georg Wellendorf from Pritzerbe purchased a residential building on Dammstrasse in 1945 and also gave the clubhouse a new purpose. Using special handlooms, which he acquired from a source still unknown to this day, the reeds that grow here were woven into reed mats and other items.

Handlooms are still used for weaving today. Visitors can have a go at weaving themselves using reeds, a sustainable raw material, under expert instruction. The staff will also gladly inspire you to craft using natural materials and to make gifts.

The playground surrounded by nature, food by the camp fire and the traditional barbecue area invite you to linger for a while. If you want to see more of the Havelland landscape, you can explore it on foot around Pritzerbe.

A “Museum zum Anfassen” (museum to touch) was opened at the reed weaving works in October 2013.
