The first thing you’ll notice upon arriving in the small Werder town district of Phöben is the pleasantly surprisingly peace and tranquillity. The Huckleberrys Tour raft station is located right next to the local fishing spot, very close to Lake Kleiner Zernsee. Day trips here mostly start heading up the River Havel towards Werder/Caputh/Potsdam, while multiple-day tours are better off choosing to go down-river towards the town of Brandenburg. Just a few minutes after starting you’ll find yourself in one of the sections on the Untere Havel waterway that is richest in fish,

something the local cormorants also appreciate as they invade the area in their thousands to catch fish in the mornings and evenings. Thin reed belts and expansive meadows provide an almost endless view from the roof of the rafts. Wherever you set down your anchor you’re sure to experience spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Further towards Ketzin, the right and left branches of the Havel are ideal for tours. Far away from commercial shipping traffic on the main Havel, rafters are mostly alone and completely undisturbed here.

The technically inspected rafts, which are approved for use by a maximum of 8 people, are equipped with an engine for licence-free operation and have a weatherproof superstructure that is 1.55 metres high. The side tarpaulins with window cut-outs can be rolled up.

There is shopping (REWE supermarket) in Werder (Havel) and parking spaces on site.

Recommended maps for tour preparation:
  • NV.Atlas Binnen / Berlin & Märkische Gewässer Volume 1
